Invest Vancouver is an economic development leadership service provided through Metro Vancouver Regional District to position the region for success in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Their purpose is to amplify opportunity and propel prosperity for all residents of the Metro Vancouver region.
Their mandate covers three areas of activity:
- Attracting strategic investment
- Conducting economic research and policy analysis, and
- Fostering collaboration
They do this by:
- Working directly with global investors to facilitate business investment and expansion into our region
- Informing economic development decision-making with cutting-edge data analytics and comprehensive market intelligence
- Advising leaders on sound economic development strategy and policy to enhance our region’s global competitiveness
- Fostering regional economic development collaboration to position our communities and people to prosper amidst our changing economy
- Promoting and showcasing the industry advantages and opportunities our region has to offer to the world

Speakers Bios
Brock Lalla
Sector Development Advisor
Brock is a Sector Development Advisor at Invest Vancouver a proponent of lifelong learning and maintaining a voracious level of curiosity for the world around him.
Prior to joining Invest Vancouver, Brock was part of PwC Canada's National Economics and Policy practice for 3 years, acting as an Economic Consultant. At PwC, Brock served as a key member of the team to facilitate and deliver a variety of public and private sector socio-economic impact studies which played a critical role in communicating the importance of key industries (such as aviation, high-tech and digital media & entertainment) to broad stakeholder groups within BC and beyond. It was also during his time at PwC that Brock developed a passion for client-facing work, building trust-founded relationships and a knack for story-telling in order to provide sound and practical solutions that act to solve real-world issues faced by clients.
Living and working in the beautiful city of Vancouver, his personal goal is to give back to the region by supporting regional economic development across key industries (with a focus on high-tech), fostering collaboration within industry ecosystems as well as working to communicate on a global scale the value Metro Vancouver has to offer to potential investors.
Brock holds a Master in Economics from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Management, Economics & Finance from the University of Guelph.
